The Lakhimpur-Khiri Regulated Area, whose controlling authority is the District Magistrate, Lakhimpur Kheri. Notified on 16 March 1992 over the Lakhimpur Nagar Palika Parishad, the Kheri Nagar Panchayat and 27 adjoining villages, it has no master plan in force yet, according to the planning department's page; its prescribed authority is the City Magistrate, Lakhimpur, whose office is in the Collectorate compound.
