Building a house in Kalaburagi: what to know

- The Kalaburagi City Corporation (Kalaburagi Mahanagara Palike), which approves new buildings inside the city. Under a September 2025 order of Karnataka's Urban Development Department, also notified under the Karnataka Municipal Corporations Act, a house on a site of up to 1,200 sq ft with ground + 2 floors, or stilt + 3, needs no occupancy certificate. The plan must still be approved and followed.

- Plots are listed in sq ft, and sites are often named by their size in feet: a 30×40 site is 1,200 sq ft. Plot listings seen in October 2026 were mostly 1,200 sq ft (30×40) sites, on Jewargi Ring Road, Darga Road and in Mecca Colony, with larger plots of 2,400 sq ft at Kusnoor, 2,850 sq ft in Tilak Nagar and 4,248 sq ft in Gunj Colony.
