Declared on 15 September 1983 over Hathras and 23 villages, with three more added in 2001, its prescribed authority is the SDM, Hathras, whose office is at Tehsil Sadar. Outside it, YEIDA barred land-use changes in 421 villages of the district in May 2025 for its Master Plan 2041.
