the Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) in its sectors, the Town and Country Planning Department (DTCP) in licensed colonies, or the urban local body in town limits — the authority's online portal, such as HSVP's OBPAS or the ULB OBPAS. Under the Haryana Building Code 2017, house plots up to 16.5 m high are low-risk: the owner applies for self-certification with a site plan, DWG drawings, structural drawings and a safety certificate, and may start building on submission.
Plot sizes
HSVP sells plots by marla and kanal, sized in metres: in Rewari a 6-marla plot is 18 × 7.5 m (135 sq m, about 1,450 sq ft). HSVP's e-auction of 19 March 2026 offered 6-, 8- and 10-marla plots (135–220.5 sq m, about 1,450–2,370 sq ft) in Sector 7 and a 1-kanal plot of 30 × 14 m in Sector 4; a licensed colony in Sector 29A has plots of 99–130 sq m (about 1,070–1,400 sq ft).

Seismic Zone IV. Per the BMTPC Vulnerability Atlas (2019), Rewari district is in Zone IV; Rewari is not in IS 1893's table of towns. BIS withdrew its 2025 seismic map in March 2026, so the IS 1893:2016 zones still apply.
Ground and water
CGWB finds calcareous soil with lime nodules (kankar) below the surface and blown sand in parts of the district, a water table 11–63 m down before the monsoon and falling 0.25–1.5 m a year, and highly saline groundwater under the south of Rewari city. Under the Haryana Building Code, roofs of 100 sq m or more must harvest rainwater where the authority has notified it.
