the Municipal Council Nuh — Haryana's Online Building Plan Approval System (OBPAS): the Urban Local Bodies' unified portal, which has run since 8 May 2026. Under the Haryana Building Code 2017, house plots up to 16.5 m high are low-risk: the owner applies for self-certification with a site plan, DWG drawings, structural drawings and a safety certificate, and may start building on submission.
Plot sizes
Plot listings in Nuh district give sizes in square yards (gaj) or square feet, and a few in acres or kanal and marla. Listings seen in October 2026 offer small house plots of 50–151 sq yd (450–1,360 sq ft) at Tajpur, Barota, Punahana, Marora and Tauru, around the district rather than in Nuh town itself.
Climate
Composite. Nuh falls in the Composite zone of BEE's climate map. Hot, dry summers, a humid monsoon and cold winters: shade and insulate the roof (BEE's limit is a U-value of 1.2 W/m²K), keep west glass small, and give rooms openable windows of at least 12.5% of the floor area.

Seismic Zone IV. Nuh is not in IS 1893's table of towns. BMTPC's Vulnerability Atlas of India (2019) puts the whole of Nuh (Mewat) district in Zone IV. BIS withdrew its 2025 seismic map in March 2026, so the IS 1893:2016 zones still apply.

On 29 August 2026 the Mewat Development Board, chaired by the Chief Minister, approved a 2,900 m bypass sewer line for Nuh city, laid without open trenches, to serve about a dozen colonies including City Hospital Colony, Medical Road Colony and Hidayat Colony. Since an amendment of 8 December 2025, Haryana's self-certification route is open only to low-risk buildings, which include house plots up to 16.5 m high. On 21 July 2026 Haryana stopped new approvals for stilt-plus-four-floor houses, citing rules for online approval and self-certification that were still being finalised.
