Map approval
The Neemuch Municipal Council (Nagar Palika Parishad Neemuch), for plots within town limits — Madhya Pradesh's online ABPAS 3.0 portal (Automated Building Plan Approval System). Since October 2022, residential plots of up to 105 sq m (about 1,130 sq ft) get a deemed permission online at once: the owner uploads the plan and pays the fee. The portal gives no stamped copy, so if a bank needs one, the owner asks the municipal body.
Plot sizes
Plots are bought and sold in sq ft, while the online deemed permission is set in square metres: 105 sq m is about 1,130 sq ft. Few plots in Neemuch town are listed online: in October 2026 we saw a 775 sq ft plot in Baghana and a 1,229 sq ft corner plot in Sitaram Jaju Nagar.
Climate
Hot-dry. Neemuch falls in the hot-dry zone of BEE's climate map, near its edge with the composite zone. It gets about 798 mm of rain a year, 90.5% of it in the monsoon, and summer is the driest season (CGWB): insulate the walls and roof, keep west windows small and shaded, and let rooms cross-ventilate.
Earthquake zone
Seismic Zone II. Per Neemuch's district disaster management plan and BMTPC's Vulnerability Atlas of India (2019), all of Neemuch district is in Zone II; Neemuch is not in IS 1893's table of towns. BIS withdrew its 2025 seismic map in March 2026, so the IS 1893:2016 zones still apply.

About three quarters of Neemuch district is black cotton soil over Deccan Trap basalt, with laterite north of the town (CGWB, 2013). Groundwater use is 81% of what is available, two of the district's three blocks are critical, and nitrate of up to 132 mg/l has been found in its groundwater.
